A Love Letter To Maureen

"I love the twinkle in your eyes when you look at me. That is how I know that I am loved by the woman behind those eyes."

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Matt Horan’s love letter to his wife, Maureen:

Blue Eyes,

Ah, those eyes, those eyes are the icing on the cake I call my wife. I love the twinkle in your eyes when you look at me. That is how I know that I am loved by the woman behind those eyes. It is a look that has never wavered in the last 27 years – it is a look that I’ve grown to love and appreciate more and more every day I spend with you. It is a look that I have grown to miss every day I am away from you.

I love looking at you, your smile lights up a room. You put a twinkle in my eye every time I see you. You are so beautiful – these are a few of the reasons you are my everything. I love feeling your arms around me, every time you need a hug, but mostly when I do. I love the way you touch me and share your deepest thoughts and dreams with me.

I love thinking about us growing old together, now that the kids are no longer kids. The new journeys we will have, the new adventures we will share. I want to tell you how lucky I feel to have met you half a lifetime ago. In fact, all I want is to be with you always. You are forever in my heart!

Everything I do, I do it for you.

Love always,
