Man Shot Dead While Warming Car for Wife

MIDLOTHIAN, IL — A man was fatally shot Wednesday morning while inside a car parked outside his home.

Residents heard a series of gunshots ring out around 7 a.m. in the 3300 block of 147th Street. Witnesses say Darius Minter, 36, was warming up his SUV to drive his wife to the train station, when he was hit by the gunfire.

Minter was father to a 12-year-old girl and two adult stepchildren.

Midlothian Police are treating the incident as a homicide. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
