Man Charged With Murder In Slapshots Bar Shooting: Cops
A man was shot in the head at the Midlothian bar around midnight Saturday, police said.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL — A Markham man was charged with one count of first-degree murder after police say he shot a man in the head, killing him, at Slapshots Bar, 14608 S. Cicero Ave. in Midlothian, around midnight Saturday.
Joseph Washington, 25, of Markham, was taken into custody at the scene of the crime and later sent to Markham Court House for a bond hearing, according to Midlothian Police.
A police officer who was in the 147th Street and Cicero Avenue area on Saturday said he heard gunshots and screaming nearby and alerted dispatchers and other officers. The officer then headed over to Slapshots, where he saw a large crowd of people in the parking lot, and cars trying to get out of the area.

The officer then saw Tyree Rials, 24, of South Holland, on the ground with a gunshot wound to his head, police said. The Midlothian Fire Department later pronounced Rials dead at the scene.
Midlothian Detectives investigated the shooting with the assistance of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
