Metra Modifies Schedule Ahead Of Dangerous Cold
Rock Island Line riders should check the latest schedules if they must venture out into Wednesday and Thursday's cold. Changes are ahead.
OAK FOREST, IL — Metra modified its Rock Island Line schedule in anticipation of the dangerously cold weather the region is expecting Wednesday and Thursday.
Officials say travel times also will reduced. Policy calls for train speed to top out at 60 mph when temperatures drop to 10 degrees below zero or colder. Extra personnel will be on hand to manage track and other issues.
