New Blackhawks Bar Opens In Midlothian
Slapshots Sports Bar and Grill is open in the Ricky Rockets plaza at 146th and Cicero.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL -- A new place for die-hard Chicago Blackhawks fans in the south suburbs has opened in Midlothian. Slapshots Sports Bar and Grill officially opened its doors at 14608 S. Cicero Ave. last week, the Daily Southtown and business reporter Bob Bong reports.
The bar, which is in the new Ricky Rockets plaza near the border of Oak Forest and Midlothian, is a sports lovers dream, but caters mainly to hockey fans and especially lovers of the Chicago Blackhawks. After all, there aren't many die-hard hockey fans in the area who aren't also die-hard fans of the Hawks.
Decorations include Stanley Cup banners hanging from the rafters and autographed Blackhawks jerseys on the walls.

Twenty-two televisions are on during the bar's regular hours and the men's room has two 19-inch screens over the urinals. So, unlike at the United Center, you won't miss a Patrick Kane or Jonathan Toews goal even when you have to go.
Slapshots seats 155 inside and has an outdoor beer garden for up to 30.
