Ninette Andrysiak is a Super Mom of 4 and Needs Your Help
Oak Forest resident Ninette Andrysiak is a mother of 4, is always there for everyone and she has Leukemia. Now she needs our help.

With summer right around the corner and only days until kids will bound out of school for the last time this school year, Oak Foresters have thoughts of sun, swim suits and sunscreen. But that is not the case for one family in Oak Forest and they need your help
Ninette Andrysiak is an Oak Forest resident, mother of 4 beautiful children, loving wife of 15 years and she has Leukemia. She is facing the most challenging time in her life right now and before you pack up the car for the beach, you must read her story and help.
In December of last year as Ninette was busy with Christmas shopping for her 4 young children and putting last minute touches on her tree, Ninette got the worst news a person can get; she had a rare form of Leukemia called Philadelphia Chromosome Positive B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The diagnoses came as a shock to this Oak Forest family because Ninette was young, vibrant, led a healthy, active lifestyle and just received a clean bill of health after an annual physical just 6 weeks before. As this devastating news sunk into the consciousness of Ninette, her family united around her. She immediately had to quit her job and began radiation and chemotherapy as Santa prepared to come down the chimney.

Ninette's tight knit family braced themselves for the side effects of these life saving treatments and as her hair began to fall out and she was sometimes too weak to make it to her kid's events at school, they stayed positive and remembered to be thankful for all they had. Her friends rallied around her starting a meal train and helping wherever they could. Her family stepped in to pick up the kids from school, take them to activities and the other thousand little things that Ninette did for her busy family of 6 most days.

Ninette made a conscious decision to not feel sorry for herself or ask why me, but to concentrate on being thankful as the love poured in from family and friends in the form of phone calls, face book messages, and visits to the house. She was grateful to have such an amazing support system as she underwent rounds of chemo and radiation, tests and procedures and too many hospital visits to count. She focused on her kids when her smile turned to tears. Henry had just lost a tooth a few weeks back and it began to grow in. Rigby turned 4 in November and his curly blond hair needed a cut. Melanie made the Math Team at her middle school, needing to practice her math facts while Nadia was busy prepping for the Spelling Bee at her school. She never forgot that there was much to be grateful for.

But as the days turned to weeks and the weeks turned to months, the toll of intense cancer treatment will take a toll on anyone. As the chemo made Ninette weak and the cancer ravished her body, there was something in those intense green eyes that said, "Come on cancer, is that all you that you got."

It began to over whelm the Andrysiak family though, not just financially but emotionally. Ted, Ninette's husband of 15 years does his best to be there for not only Ninette, but their 4 children. Between his full time job and running Ninette to the hospital, he makes sure Melanie has all her equipment for her traveling softball team, Henry is on time for his bowling league, Nadia is prepped and ready for her softball games, and little Rigby gets a daily hug or two to assure him everything is okay.
On May 28th, Ninette underwent her biggest challenge yet, receiving a bone marrow transplant from her brother Bruce, which is an extremely painful procedure. Ninette was ready for this procedure and met it with stealthy determination but the real challenge will come after. She will require a lengthy hospital stay along with isolation from her children for 100 days.

The isolation from her children will be the hardest part of it all. Not seeing those sweet little faces everyday or hearing the laughter as they bound down the stairs too early on a Saturday morning, will be more painful than the procedure itself. Missing a whole summer with the kids will be heart wrenching for her.

But through it all Ninette has kept her sense of humor, her unyielding faith and her ability to laugh through the tears. She is the type of person that is always there for you, no matter what. Her friends and family love her and will do whatever they can to help her through this trying time in her life.
Ninette is not the type to ask for help so long time friend Colleen Cox has stepped in to do it for her. She started a Go Fund Me page for Ninette and her family. Their goal is to raise $10,000 which will help financially with hospital bills and the cost of summer camp for all their children. They are to a point where they really need help.
