Don't Miss Oak Forest American Day Parade, Old Times Picnic

OAK FOREST, IL — Display your patriotism and dip into nostalgia this weekend as part of summer's last hurrah. Make Oak Forest's I Am an American Day Parade and Old Times Family Picnic part of your Labor Day weekend plans.

Sponsored by the Oak Forest Veterans Commission, the parade steps off at 11 a.m., Sun., Sept. 1 and heads down Central Avenue from 151st to 156th streets.

Afterward, head to Central to Central Park to enjoy music, food, pony rides, a petting zoo, zip line and other festivities.

The picnic will be held from noon until 8 p.m. at 5601 S. Central Avenue.
