Businesses and community residents are encouraged to display blue ribbons physically, virtually, or both, Kim Malecky-Iles, executive director of the Oak Forest-Crestwood Chamber of Commerce, said.

“Tie blue ribbons or any blue fabric to the trees on your property,” she said. “Use what you already have at home. Or draw blue ribbons on paper and put them up on your front door and windows and vehicles windows.”

Malecky-Iles also suggests posting the campaign to social media with an image of a blue ribbon and tagging your local health care facility, first responder location or favorite healthcare hero.

“It would be wonderful to see every tree, home, car, and social media page sporting a blue ribbon,” Malecky-Iles said. “Let this display be a sign of gratitude for the bravery of our healthcare professionals and first responders.”
