The Oak Forest Park District has been chosen to lead the Oak Forest Fleadh Parade and is inviting you to be part of it.

The Oak Forest Park District has been chosen to be the Grand Marshall of this year's Oak Forest Fleadh parade and wants you to be a part of it. The park district is just coming off it's 50th anniversary and is excited to lead the parade this year.

They are busy building not one, but two floats to show the pride and spirit of Oak Forest. They are inviting everyone who is involved in the park district to join them. Whether you are 5 years old and part of the preschool program or 90 years old and attends the pinnacle group, they would like you be part of the annual celebration.

Cindy Grannon, Director of the Oak Forest Park District is delighted that the park district has been chosen to lead the grand parade and is looking forward to the festivities. "We would like to include as many citizens as possible," she commented. So if you love the park district, join the fun.

The Fleadh which will take place on March 2nd, 2019, has become a family tradition in Oak Forest and is going on it's 10th year. The parade proceeds down Cicero from 151st street to 159th street. Please note that participants will most likely have to walk, so please take that into consideration.

The Fleadh Parade is just part of the festivities of the day which includes a 5K run/walk, an open streets event (ride, blade, skate), the family parade, and a pub and restaurant open house. It is a great day for Oak Forest and its residents and it is fun to be involved in such a wonderful event.
