OAK FOREST, IL —The 4th of July is just about here, which means it's time to fire up the grill, hit the pool — and mark your calendars for the fireworks and festivities that honor the nation's Independence Day. We gathered up the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in Oak Forest to help you plan your celebrations.
Oak Forest's celebrations are part of its famous Oak Fest. Admission is free, but some other costs may apply. Oak Fest is held at 159th & Central Ave. in Oak Forest. Its Fireworks Extravaganza begins on the 4th at 9:30 p.m. the festival is open that day from 3 p.m. to midnight.

Oak Fest has special options for die-hard fans. You can get VIP seating for its Fireworks Extravaganza for $5. This buys you VIP seating, and you can grab a Budweiser, Bud Light, Bud Lime and Michelob Ultra for $3 apiece. VIP seating is open from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. You can buy tickets at the fest on July 4th.
