R/S Automotive Reopens As Warren's Automotive

OAK FOREST, IL — Residents of Oak Forest who remember the R/S Automotive shop that stood on 159th Street between Laramie and Le Claire might like to know that it has returned, under its most recent owner, at the same location but with a new name.

Robert Warren owned R/S for 11 years, closing the general service automobile repair shop in January of 2016. But just three-and-a-half years later he is back in business as Warren's Automotive. Warren's opened at 5135 W. 159th St. in late September.

"A lot of people I used to see in the old store would see me and ask me to come back, some saying they didn't trust their new auto repair service and that they wished I would reopen," said Warren, who now rents the very building he owned before.

"And then the owner of the property contacted me to see if I would be interested in coming back and renting," he said. "After some thought, it was a no-brainer. Auto repair has been what I've been doing my whole life. It was meant to happen."

Customers have already come in and told Warren how happy they are to see the business back up and running, he said.

The shop will provide the same service R/S did for decades. They are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. There's a key drop box inside the front door for anyone who needs to leave their car there while they are closed.

"Brakes, tires, tune ups, the check engine light.... we'll do all general service," Warren said. "Ignition repair is something we've been known for."
