OAK FOREST, IL — The Oak Forest High School cheer team is the 2020 IHSA medium division state runner-up. The Bengal squad concluded a successful season with numerous accolades over the weekend at the state tournament in Bloomington, a team representative told Patch. It's also the second year in a row the team finished as the state runner-up and the eighth state cheer trophy ever brought home to the school.

The season turned out the highest scores an OFHS cheer team has ever achieved, five first place trophies, a grand champion award, a conference championship and the South Suburban Blue Conference sportsmanship in addition to finishing as the state runner-up.

The team hit zero at both days during the state tournament, meaning they performed their routine with no deductions.
