Tee's Cakes & Confections to Hold Cupcake Decorating Class

Tee's Cakes & Confections, owned by Bremen high school alumni Taryn Harmon, has been busy the past 6 months since she opened. Her store front bakery located at 16150 S. Cicero, Unit 8, in Oak Forest specializes in custom cakes, cookies, cupcakes and confections for all your celebration needs is branching out.

Miss Harmon has been teaching classes at the local high schools helping students become expert in all things sweet. She has come in as a guest to more than a few cooking classes at Bremen High School, Tinley Park High School and Hillcrest High School. Recently she was a guest at Bremen with Miss Mack where she helped prepare students for their regional competition for their FCCLA baking class.

She was there to help the student perfect their piping and decorating skills, both which look easy but take time and patience to perfect. She shared some of her best kept secrets to help the students for their upcoming competition which will take place on February 6th. She loved being in the class room especially since Miss Mack was her teacher at Bremen High School.

Tee's Cakes and Confections is also expanding services. They just announced that they will be hosting cupcake decorating classes, for both young adults and for an adult date night.

The first class will be for ages 10-18 and will concentrate on cupcake decorating. This class will take place on Sunday, February 10th from 3-5pm. The cost is $40, includes lunch and all participants will leave with 6 decorated cupcakes besides some new cupcake decorating skills.

The second class which can double as a date night will highlight cupcake decorating and will be on Sunday February 10th from 7-9pm. The cost is $50 per person and will include dinner (BYOB) and each participant will leave with 4 cupcakes and 6 chocolate covered strawberries. This is a great way to spend some times with your sweetie, making sweets.

With Valentines Day right around the corner, Tee's Cakes & Confections is currently taking orders for one of their specialties, Chocolate Covered Strawberries. They will also have special hours, being open from Wednesday February 13th - Friday February 15th from 10-8pm. On Saturday February 16th, they will be open from 10-4pm for all your sweets for your Valentine.

As always, Tee's Cakes & Confections is ready to take your order for custom cakes and sweet tables. They are also open to the public every Friday from 10-6pm and Saturday from 10-4pm. You can drop in and try some of her specialty sweets as she bakes them right on site.
