Veterans Day 2018: What's Open, Closed In Oak Forest

OAK FOREST, IL — This year, Veterans Day was officially Sunday, Nov. 11, and while events honoring U.S. military men and women were held this weekend, many institutions around Oak Forest will observe the holiday Monday.
Here's a look at how some places and services in the city will be handling Veterans Day:
Schools: Forest Ridge Elementary School District 142, Arbor Park School District 145, Community Consolidated School District 146, Bremen High School District 228 and Consolidated School District 230 will have classes.

City Government: City Hall and village offices will be open. County, state and federal government offices will be closed, though.
Acorn Public Library: The library will be open.

Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.
Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.
Retailers, Restaurants, Bars and Other Businesses: Most will be open, but check hours ahead of time.
