Find out why everyone is talking about this house.

A Tudor-style home steeped in local history is set to be featured this summer on HGTV’s new house hunting show “Hunting Vintage.”

This gem of a vintage home at 9609 S. Brandt Ave. is 980 square feet and packed with character. The home features a stone wood burning fireplace, hardwood floors throughout, beamed ceilings, three bedrooms 1 ¾ bathrooms and a huge, fenced in backyard. There are even two doggy doors for your pooch.

The house once belonged to Harvey N. Wick, who owned it from 1937 through 1961. Wick also served as Oak Lawn’s village president from 1952 to 1960.

Although she has been sworn to secrecy until the show featuring the home airs this summer, agent Christine Ciana Calabrese, of Classic Realty Group, said she was contacted by the show’s producers who saw the home’s listing on MLS.

“The most interesting thing about the property is that it has two individual garages,” Calabrese said. “There is a garage on the driveway. Mayor Wick has the second garage built off the alley so he could duck out without anyone seeing him.”

The house lists for $229,000. If interested in a viewing, contact agent Christine Calabrese by email at christinecianacalabrese@gmail.com, or by phone at 708-388-6140.
