2 Armed Robberies Reported in 3 Days: Oak Park Cops

One man lost $500 in cash and his iPhone.

Oak Park police released details this weekend about an armed robbery that took place Jan. 7 in the 600 block of South Ridgeland Avenue.

Two black men, described as wearing all black outfits and black face masks, robbed a Bloomington resident around 5:30 p.m. that day, according to police.

One of the men was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, and the other had a silver and black handgun that they used to threaten their victim.

They were able to steal an iPhone and cash from the victim's pockets, leaving him with a $500 loss.

Another armed robbery took place at 11 p.m. Jan. 10 when a man approached a woman in the 300 block of South Boulevard and showed her a silver and black semi-automatic handgun before stealing her wallet from her purse.

The suspect was described by the victim as a black male around 5-foot-8 and between 18 and 25 years old. He was reportedly wearing a dark coat, dark jeans and a beanie hat. After the robbery, he got into a white sedan driven by an accomplice.
