3 New Coronavirus Cases In Oak Park

Public Health Director Mike Charley said the cases reported Monday are from residents with ages ranging from in their 30s into their 60s.

OAK PARK, IL — The Oak Park Department of Public Health's Public Health Director Mike Charley announced Monday that three more residents have tested positive for the coronavirus since his last report on Friday, the village said in a news release. According to Charley, two cases were reported Saturday, one Sunday and none Monday. According to state data, 675 Oak Park residents have tested positive since the first case was reported in Oak Park on March 18, the news release said.

According to Charley, the cases reported Monday are from residents with ages ranging from in their 30s into their 60s.

Less than two weeks ago Charley urged area teens to stop risky behavior and to cooperate completely with contact tracing efforts as the number of teens testing positive for the coronavirus in the village grows.

With the number of teenagers testing positive for COVID-19 in the Village growing, Oak Park Public Health Director Mike Charley is urging teens to stop risky behavior and to cooperate fully with contact tracing efforts.

"Multiple recent positive cases are believed to be linked to one indoor gathering of teenagers at a private home where masks were not being worn and social-distancing guidelines not followed," the news release stated.
