Birth Boutique Offers Classes, Doula Care, More In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL -- Having a child can be an overwhelming experience as you try to manage everything before, during, and after the birth: researching, packing, scheduling, registering for gifts, Googling photographers. The newly opened Birth Boutique in Oak Park is hoping to make the transition into parenthood as smooth as possible for new moms and dads.

The Birth Boutique will open Thursday at 128 Harrison Street in the village's arts district and the owners have already organized a full calendar of classes and events for residents.

The aim of the Birth Boutique, which is run by three mothers, is to holistically guide expectant mothers and parents-to-be through every step of the birth. Childbirth classes can help parents learn what to expect and doula services are available for moms during the birth and after.

Once you've given birth, the team at the Birth Boutique can provide you with photography services, baby clothes, and other access to yoga classes and playdates.

The boutique's grand opening party will take place on May 5 at 1 p.m.
