WEDNESDAY, FEB. 6

Battery Arrest

A River Forest resident reported that they were the victim of a battery in the 300 block of Lake Street by an Oak Park juvenile. The juvenile was picked up in the 200 block of Scoville and taken to the station. They were later released to a parent.

Criminal Trespassing

Michael J. Conlin, 31, of the 600 block of Madison in Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to real property around 5 p.m. in the 2600 block of south California in Chicago. Conlin was processed and returned to a bond hearing.

TUESDAY, FEB. 5

Phone Harassment Report Leads to Arrest

Vincent G. Saitta, 43, of the 5200 block of Brighton in Plainfield was arrested at his home after sending several harassing emails to an attorney of his ex-wife who works in Oak Park. Saitta as charged at the station with harassment by electronic communication and released on bond.

Bike Stolen

An Oak Park resident told police that someone broke into their garage in the 1100 block of south Lombard by forcing open the side service door overnight between Feb. 4-5. Stolen was a mountain bike. The damages together were estimated at $600.

Cell Phone and Brief Case Stolen

An Oak Park resident reported that someone entered his or her unlocked vehicle overnight between Feb. 4-5 in the 600 block of Harrison. Stolen was a cell phone, charger, brief case and miscellaneous papers. The loss was estimated at $310.

MONDAY, FEB. 4

Catalytic Converter Stolen

The catalytic converter was stolen from a 2006 Honda in the 300 block of Harrison with hand saw. The loss was estimated at $1,000.

SUNDAY, FEB. 3

Vehicle Burglarized

An Oak Park resident reported that their 2009 Ford Focus was burglarized between 10:30 a.m. Feb. 2 and 8 a.m. Feb. 3 in the 300 block of south Euclid. The car was unlocked at the time and stolen were the vehicle's owner’s manual and a small tool case for an estimated loss of $20.

GPS, Dress Stolen

An Oak Park resident reported that someone burglarized their 2012 Toyota SUV in the 800 block of Washington between Feb. 1-3. Stolen was a Tom-Tom GPS unit and a UPS box containing a gold Whitehouse dress. The estimated loss was $380.

Battery Arrest

Kevin L. Word, 47, of the 500 block of south Wesley was arrested and charged with battery in the 300 block of Chicago around 1:44 p.m. Word was issued a court date and released on bond.

SATURDAY, FEB. 2

Theft Reported

Five Guys restaurant in the 1100 block of Lake Street reported that someone stole about $15 from the tip jar as employees were cleaning up around 10 p.m.

Retail Theft Arrest

Jeremiah L. Ollison, 23, of the 1600 block of north Mason in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft for an incident at Dominick's Foods in the 200 block of Lake Street around 6:19 p.m.

FRIDAY, FEB. 1

Attempted Residential Burglary

An unknown person attempted to enter a home in the 1000 block of Fair Oaks around 7:30 p.m., police learned. I resident found the window on their rear door was broken by unknown means. The damage was estimated at $320.

Aggravated DUI Arrest

Luis Ochoa, 39, of the 6000 block of west 19th Street in Cicero, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence in the 500 block of south Maple around 7 p.m. Ochoa was additionally charged with no valid drivers license and possession of alcohol by a driver and held for bond hearings.

Auto Burglary

An Oak Park resident's black 2008 Dodge Charger was reported burglarized between 11 p.m. Jan. 31 and 6 a.m. Feb. 1. The driver's side lock was broken and once inside, the burglar stole a phone charger from the center console. The loss was estimated at $315.
