Burr Ridge, Oak Park Hotel Owners Charged with Defrauding the State
Hotel owners allegedly defrauded the state for more than $350,000 in tax revenue.

A Burr Ridge and Oak Park resident who own six Chicago-area hotels were charged with defrauding the state for more than $350,000 in tax revenue, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The pair are accused of defrauding the state about $3.5 million in revenue from June 1, 2011 to June 14, 2014.
Kishore Chugh, 63, of the 8200 block of Ridgepoint Drive, Burr Ridge, and Shashank Bhatt, 66, of the 200 block of Roslyn Road, Oak Brook, were charged with wire fraud and filing fraudulent Hotel Operators’ Occupation Tax return, the Chicago Tribune reports after the office of Attorney General Lisa Madigan released information on Dec. 22.

Both Chugh and Bhatt posted $100,000 bond and their court date is set for Jan. 11.
