1. Early on Monday morning, a car crashed into The Onion Roll on West North Avenue. Officials said nobody was hurt, but the damage will cost the popular Jewish deli a few thousand dollars in repairs. Workers say that despite how the front of the store may look, The Onion Roll is still open for business. (Wednesday Journal)

2. A climate change protest held up traffic on Lake Street Monday afternoon while students and activists marched in support of cleaner energy bills. The rally included a "die-in" where participants laid on the ground to represent the bleak future of the environment. (Oak Leaves)

3. River Forest School District #90 committed to returning completely in-person for the coming school year, with renewed priorities to focus on mental health. "It's going to be a process for parents to readjust mentally," F. Amanda Tugade reported board member Stacey Williams saying during a meeting. (Wednesday Journal)

4. The newly remodeled Bud Mohr Skate Park opened in Forest Park after nearly two months of renovating. The project ended up coming in one dollar under budget for a grand total of $249,999. Officials said the skate park has seen hundreds of visitors already. (Forest Park Review)

5. HBO's upcoming "I'll Be Gone in the Dark" will have a follow-up episode devoted to Michelle McNamara's investigation of the Kathy Lombardo case. According to HBO, McNamara returned to Oak Park in 2013 to look into the case and found "inconsistencies" in the police work. (Yahoo News)
