Couple Steals $1.6K Of Over-The-Counter Meds From Jewel-Osco: River Forest Cops

They were both caught in the store's parking lot before they could get away with it.

A couple was arrested the afternoon of Feb. 12 after stealing more than a thousands dollars’ worth of over-the-counter medication from a Jewel-Osco Foods, River Forest police announced in a recent report.

Tony Martin, 52, and Otha L. McClendon, 51, were both charged with retail theft after cops were called to the 7525 W. Lake St. location around 2 p.m. for a retail theft in progress. The pair had allegedly stolen more than $1,600 of over-the-counter medication from the store’s pharmacy.

Martin and McClendon reportedly tried to flee area in a car but were stopped in the parking lot by police, who then took the pair into custody.

Martin is from Wood Dale; McClendon lives in Chicago.
