Dogs To Don Costumes For Oak Park Halloween Parade, Contest
Owners are even encouraged to dress up like their dogs for this fun annual event.

OAK PARK, IL --- Dogs will be able to don their best costumes and vie for glory at Oak Park's Halloween Dog Parade and Costume Contest on Oct. 28. Pups and their owners can gather for the parade and contest in the Portage Park Dog-Friendly Area at 4100 N. Long Ave.
Registration is at 10:30 a.m. and the festivities officially begin at 11 a.m. Participants can register their pooches in advance for just $5 or at the event for $10. Proceeds from the parade and costume contest will help the Portage Park Dog-Friendly Area fund its cleaning and maintenance, including new mesh to keep gravel intact.
Pets and their "parents" can draw inspiration from the following costume categories: scariest, funniest, best dog and human costume combo, and best dog team costume. Winners will be announced at 11:45 a.m.
