Donate Coats At Pop-Up Collection Drive In Oak Park

The pop-up drive will be held on Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oak Park Library.

OAK PARK, IL --- Oak Park families are invited to donate gently used coats to help children in need during a pop-up collection drive organized by Cradles to Crayons. The coat drive, which is set for Jan. 21, will be part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, which encourages Americans to do work to help others.

Residents can bring coats, boots, and other winter clothing to the Oak Park Public Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The items that Cradles to Crayons are most in need of include:

  • Winter coats (newborn to adult medium sizes)
  • Winter boots (newborn to adult size 10)
  • Warm clothing (newborn to adult medium sizes)
  • Toys and books (up to age 12)

Cradles to Crayons helps provide resources to Chicago-area families and children who are in need. In a press release, officials say they are holding the upcoming drive in Oak Park to make it easier for "families living outside of the city to engage in the region’s growing fight against clothing insecurity."
