1. Interim co-principals have been announced at William Beye Elementary School. The District 97 board unanimously appointed “D97 vets” Cheryl Sullivan and Sheila Carter to share the role for the upcoming school year. (Wednesday Journal)
2. Work is expected to begin this week on the new home of the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society. The organization has been planning renovations on the former U.S. Bank location at 28 W. Madison since 2019. Work is expected to continue through February 2022. (Oak Leaves)

3. The Oak Park Village Board is considering making changes to its leaf blower ordinance due to an increase in noise complaints. Landscaping companies and lawmakers are debating the pros and cons of taking the action. (Oak Leaves)
4. Forest Park is extending its 11 p.m. curfew to allow bars to stay open until midnight. The Village set the curfew in April to cut down on excessive noise and crime on Madison Street. There is a temporary hold on live music and DJs to address “the rowdiness problem.” (Forest Park Review)
5. President Joe Biden is visiting Crystal Lake today, marking his first visit to Illinois since his election. He is the first sitting president to visit the city, and is expected to discuss the American Families Plan at McHenry County College. (ABC)
