Graffiti Reports Increase In Oak Park: Police
According to Oak Park police, nearly 90 percent of all crime across the village is crime against property. Here's how to report graffiti.
OAK PARK, IL — Summer is here, and the Oak Park Police Department recently announced they continue receiving increased reports of graffiti in the village. According to Oak Park police, nearly 90 percent of all crime across the Village is crime against property, and police are providing safety and crime reporting tips for residents. Police added that armed robberies and vehicle hijacking do sometimes happen in the village.
Police tell residents and community members to report graffiti in Oak Park by calling the Village's graffiti hotline at 708-358-5429. Graffiti can also be reported online.
Last month, Oak Park police said the village was working on plans to help business and property owners remove graffiti after several businesses were damaged in weekend street violence.

Police urge bicyclists to deter bike thieves by registering your bike with the Oak Park Police Department. Residents who register their bikes receive a decal that's difficult to remove, and allows for easy identification should a registered bike be stolen and turn up or recovered later.
