Here's a List of All the Oak Park Construction This Week, So You Can Avoid It
There's a lot going on.

There's a lot going on before winter is underway, and construction crews in Oak Park are working fast to finish resurfacing and road work. Stay up-to-date with this information and more by reading the Oak Park Village Manager's Weekly Report.
- The North Boulevard bus stop between Marion St. and Harlem Ave.: Temporary concrete was just poured to restore a dip in the pavement at the bus stop. Key word is 'temporary' — there could still be minor construction.
- South Boulevard: Excavation on the south side of the street continues in order to make way for an expanded decorative sidewalk and outdoor dining area.
- South Boulevard: Street lighting work is scheduled to begin this week along the road and continue through mid-November.
- Chicago Ave: Work is continuing in repaving Chicago Ave. from Harlem Ave. to Austin Blvd. Construction work has been focusing on curbs and sidewalk crossings, both of which have been removed and replaced on the north corners of Chicago and Ridgeland and the northeast corner of Chicago and Oak Park. Pavement milling was scheduled to start late last week, starting at Austin Blvd. and working from east to west. The takeaway here: This construction isn’t going away anytime soon.
- Village Hall: Construction crews have been working on repairing the garages at Village Hall, including pouring concrete onto the east driveway entrance and removing the west driveway entrance. The bridge from the parking lot to the south entrance is open, with minimal impact to customers. It’s not possible, though, to access the parking garage above the Police Department, since the structural concrete poured there is still curing. The Lombard Ave. entrance remains open and undisturbed.
- Madison St. and Highland Ave. intersection: Crews are replacing water and sewer lines on the south side of this intersection. Once they’re done, they’ll move on to the 500 and 600 blocks of Highland Ave.
- Harrison, from East to Ridgeland and Wisconsin, south of Madison: Concrete removals are taking place.
- North Blvd., from Euclid to East: Pavement milling is taking place.
- Chicago and Harvey Aves.: Work continues on the pedestrian crossing signal at this intersection.
- Harrison St., North Blvd., Oak Park Ave.: Work continues on bicycle parking facilities at these spots.
