Leaf Collection To Resume In Oak Park

Leaf collection will take place weekly through Nov. 29.

OAK PARK, IL — Now that fall is in full swing, Oak Park residents can start getting their leaves ready for collection. The village will resume its annual leaf collection on Oct. 15 and continue through Nov. 29.

Residents are asked to rake leaves 18 inches or more from the curb onto the street a day prior to the day of their scheduled trash pickup. Sweepers will come by at night to put the leaves into piles for collection the following morning.

Village officials advise residents to make sure leaf piles are free of sticks and other yard waste and then to dampen leaves to avoid them being tossed up by the wind. If possible, residents should be careful to rake their leaves onto side streets and away from cul de sacs.
