Leo Latz Jr., 79, Former President of Fenwick Father's Club
A Mass of the Resurrection will take place at 10:45 a.m. March 11 at Visitation Church, 779 S. York St., Elmhurst.

Leo Latz Jr., a supporter of schools and many organizations, died March 6 in his Elmhurst home with his family close at hand. He was 79.
Latz’ friends and family are asked to meet for Mass of the Resurrection at 10:45 a.m. March 11 at Visitation Church, 779 S. York St., Elmhurst. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, according to Ahlgrim Funeral Home.
Latz was a beloved family member to many. He was the son of Leo J. Latz, M.D.. and Margaret (nee Fitzgerald), and his siblings were Margaret and the late John Boyle.

Latz was married to Ann Latz for 57 years, and they had five children, Leo III, Ann Dunbar, Peter, Michael and Timothy.
He was the grandfather of Catherine Mary, Leo IV, Patrick, Janeen and Bridget, Marty, Kelley, Maureen and Conor Dunbar, Maria, Catherine Ann (Sam Froelich), P.J., and Eva, Ryan and George, Maggie, Kevin, Tom and Mary, according to his page on the funeral home.

Latz graduated from St. Ambrose University in Iowa, and he became the leader of the school’s alumni club in Chicago. He served in leadership positions for several organizations, including the the Alexian Brothers Hospital Foundation, the Fenwick High School Father’s Club and others.
Latz was also a resident of River Forest for 29 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Leo’s name will be accepted by St. Ambrose University, c/o Ed Finn, 518 W. Locust Street, Davenport, IA 52803 or the Fenwick High School Fr. Malachy Dooley O.P. Fund, 505 Washington Blvd. Oak Park, IL 60302.
