With the help of the Oak Park Health Department, the Main Library has a safe building capacity set at 250 total. Maze Branch, now open with limited services and hours, has a safe building capacity of 80 total. Real-time capacity numbers display during open hours on the top bar of this website and on a large screen at the main entrance. We ask that all children under 14 visit with an adult. No school or group visits are available at this time. Find more parameters in our detailed plans for everyone and for our library staff »

Everyone
Even if you are vaccinated, we are following the guidance of the Oak Park Health Department that everyone over the age of 2 who is inside library buildings wears face protection. A mask or shield should cover both your nose and mouth to enter and remain inside. Please stay home if you are feeling sick.

Hand washing
Wash hands regularly for at least 20 seconds; use hand sanitizer before and after touching anything. Hand sanitizer is provided throughout the library, but please feel free to bring your own in case we run low!

Frequent cleaning
Clean and disinfect all high-touch surfaces frequently. Our library staff does this throughout the day. Our cleaning crew does this each evening. While we provide disinfectant wipes throughout the buildings, we encourage you to bring your own in case we run low!

Physical distancing
Follow safe physical distancing guidelines: at least 6 feet is best. Floor markers are placed in certain high traffic areas to help. For the elevators, please plan on one person (or household) at a time.
