Missing Oak Park Woman Seen In Chicago: Police

OAK PARK, IL — An Oak Park woman reported missing on Aug. 15 from a local nursing home was spotted last week, the Oak Park Police Department reported in a Monday update. According to police, 65-year-old Mary Windham is still missing despite a "confirmed sighting" of her last week in Chicago. Police added that they are still actively searching for Windham and investigating leads.

According to police, Windham is in danger due to suffering from dementia and other conditions. She went missing on Aug. 15 after leaving Berkeley Nursing and Rehab Center, located 6909 W. North Avenue in Oak Park, according to police.

Windham is 5-feet, 2-inches, and was possibly wearing a black, full-zippered, hooded sweatshirt when she went missing.

On Thursday, Oak Park police told Patch they've distributed bulletins to surrounding communities and are working with other law enforcement agencies in the search for Windham. Police added that they will update the public as more information becomes available.
