Mother of Former Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn Dies at 98
Eileen Mary Quinn died Saturday morning at her River Forest home.

Eileen Mary Quinn, the mother of former Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn died in her sleep early Saturday morning at her River Forest home, relatives told the Chicago Tribune. Born Oct. 18 1917, she passed away in her sleep at the age of 98.
A native of the Englewood community on the city’s South Side, Eileen Quinn married Patrick Joseph Quinn in 1943. The couple would later settle in Hinsdale in 1948, where Eileen Quinn worked 30 years in the Hinsdale District 181 school system as a secretary and administrative assistant retiring in 1995.
Her son John Quinn told the Tribune her mother was a devout Catholic and a feisty and very classy woman. She had three sons, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A wake will be held Friday at the Dreschler Brown & Williams Funeral Home located at 203 S. Marion St. in Oak Park. The funeral will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church in River Forest. A date and time for the funeral has not been announced.
