Oak Park Homeowner Loses $26K, Car to Burglary: Police
The robbery took place early in the morning Jan. 6.
An Oak Park resident lost an estimated $26,000 in an early morning burglary last week.
Between 4:30 a.m. and 6:05 a.m. Jan. 6, police said, the resident’s South Lombard Avenue home was entered through an unlocked back door.
The burglar allegedly removed the resident’s blue leather purse from the dining room and dumped its contents onto the kitchen counter, removing cash, a Chase Visa credit card, a gold iPhone 6 and a green iPhone 5C with a cracked screen.

The burglar stole car keys from a jacket hanging in the kitchen, as well as a front door key. They then stole the resident’s 2016 Honda CRV that was parked behind the house. It still hasn’t been found.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
