Oak Park Pie Shop Gets National Recognition

OAK PARK, IL --- Oak Park's Happy Apple Pie Shop recently got a big shout out from a national publication. The bakery recently made USA Today's list of the best pie shops in every state.

The list, compiled for USA Today by 24/7 Wall Street, compared Yelp reviews, pie menus, and awards received by five pie and pastry shops in each state. Large chain bakeries were not considered for the list, so the focus was on small businesses like Happy Apple.

The humble crew at Happy Apple, which is nestled in Oak Park's charming arts district, didn't even find out about the national recognition until a customer came in to tell them. The owners posted on Facebook, "It is fitting that a customer came in to tell us about this award as it is based in large part on on customer reviews. We love our customers and pledge to bake our best in the New Year!"
