1. The Oak Park Police Department will hire a consulting firm to review its records management system. Chief LaDon Reynolds said it will help officers respond faster to the growing number of Freedom of Information Act requests. (Wednesday Journal)
2. The police department also added a new community service dog to its ranks this month. "Paw-fficer" Howie trained for more than 1,200 hours to assist with officer wellness. The 21-month-old rescue will be in attendance at future department outreach events. (Village of Oak Park)

4. The digital divide between Oak Park and Austin is clear in a new interactive map created by the U.S. Department of Commerce. While less than one percent of homes are without internet in some areas of Oak Park, the percentage jumps as high as 49 percent in sections of Austin. (Wednesday Journal)
5. Construction will begin immediately on the Trinity High School courtyard after the River Forest Board approved the $2.8 million project this week. (Wednesday Journal)
