One Arrested, Two Suspected In Aggravated Car Hijacking Case

The hijacking took place Sept. 26.

One man has been arrested and two other suspects have been identified in the case of an aggravated vehicular hijacking reported in late September.

Sept. 26, River Forest Police responded to a call of a man with a gun on the 7600 block of Central Ave. When police got to the scene, a woman who had been driving a 2009 BMW 528i said she had been approached by two men, one armed with a shotgun. The men ordered the woman to get out of her vehicle, took the wheel and sped away from the scene.

The car was found several days later on a street in the area of Division and Parkside in Chicago. It had been stripped for parts and vandalized, according to a release from the River Forest Police.

River Forest Police evidence technicians recovered fingerprints and DNA evidence from the vehicle — this, along with the information from bystanders that the men had been driven to the site of the hijacking in a small red car, led police to arrest Markeese Guider, 19, on Oct. 11.

After an assessment, Guider was charged with two counts of Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking and one count of Criminal Trespass to Vehicle. Guider attended a bond hearing in which his bail was set at $10,000 at 10 percent. He’s currently being held at the Cook County Jail.
