Phones Stolen During Armed Robbery And CTA Theft: Oak Park Police
The Oak Park Police Department responded to reports of phones stolen during the first weekend of August 2020.
OAK PARK, IL — The Oak Park Police Department is investigating the following crimes officers responded to over the last few days:
Armed robbery
The Oak Park Police Department reported two unknown people came up to a car at 4:11 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of S. Harvey Avenue and demanded the victims hand over their phones while holding a black gun. Police said the victims (Oak Park residents) handed over their phones and the two suspect got inside a newer, dark-colored SUV, and drove southbound into the alley. The suspects are described as an 18 to 21-year-old Black man, 6'0" tall, heavy build, with a birthmark or tattoo near left eye, who was last seen wearing blue sweatpants and a black sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as an 18 to 20-year-old Black man, 5'6" tall, thin build, and was last seen wearing a black and yellow colored long sleeve shirt.

Police said the estimated value of the stolen phones is $1,640.

Theft
The Oak Park Police Department reported a suspect took a person's rose gold-colored iPhone 8 with a pink glitter case out of her hand just before 9 a.m. Sunday in a CTA car in the 800 block of S. Oak Park Avenue. The suspect is described as a Black man in his early 20s, 5'6" tall, thin build, who was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. According to police, the suspect was last seen running up the ramp towards Oak Park Avenue, and then northbound.
Police said the estimated value of the stolen phone is $900.
