SATURDAY, FEB. 2
Window Damaged
An officer responded to a building in the 400 block of Clinton around 5:29 p.m. to investigate a reported of a damaged window in the lobby area. The window was reportedly damaged just before the officer's arrival and three juveniles were seen in the area prior to the incident. The damage was estimated at $1,500.

THURSDAY, JAN. 31
Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest
Officers responded to a disturbance at Dominick's Foods, 7501 W. North Ave., around 2:48 p.m. While in the store, the officers learned that the offender, identified as Richard Strapp, 52, of the 4800 block of west Potomac in Chicago, had attempted to pass a bad check and was yelling at employees and customers. Police reported that Strapp refused to be handcuffed and officers needed to wrestle him to the ground. Strapp was later charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Wallet Lost, Credit Card Later Used at Gas Station
A caller reported to River Forest police at about 12:50 p.m. that he possibly left his wallet on the counter, or later dropped it around the 700 block of north Harlem Avenue between 5:30-6 p.m. the day before. The loss included $60 in cash, identification and credit cards. The victim reported that one of the credit cards was later used at a Shell Gas station in Oak Park.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 29
Home Burglarized
The owner of a home in the 1300 block of Jackson reported that their home had been burglarized around 8:47 p.m. The victim told police they believed their home was entered between 5-8:40 p.m. earlier that day. Reported stolen was a watch worth $70 from a bedroom. A canvas of the neighborhood provided police with a description of a suspicious male seen earlier in the day. Police are still investigating.
Copper Downspouts Stolen
An officer was sent to the 800 block of Bonnie Brae in reference to the theft of copper downspouts. The victim told police that between 9:30 a.m. Jan. 28 and 11 a.m. Jan. 29, someone removed about 60 feet of copper downspouts from the property. The loss was estimated at $2,000.
Man Arrested After Obstructing Identification, Wanted on Warrant
Police were called to the River Forest Cancer Center, 7420 W. Central, around 7:24 a.m. to investigate a report of a suspicious person. The subject was located in the building, but refused to provide officers with identification, give his name, or provide his date of birth. The subject was taken into custody for further investigation and fingerprinted. Police found the man was Maxwell Johnson, 34, of the 1200 block of west Hood Avenue in Chicago, and was also wanted on a warrant out of Lake County for criminal trespass to a vehicle. Johnson was charged with the warrant and with obstructing identification.
