River Forest to Host Historic, Architectural Preservation Presentation Nov. 2
River Forest Historic Preservation Commission to host a presentation about recently completed comprehensive Architectural and Historical Survey.

From the Village of River Forest:
The Village of River Forest Historic Preservation Commission will host a presentation about its recently completed comprehensive Architectural and Historical Survey on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 100 p.m. at the River Forest Public Library, 735 Lathrop Ave.
The presentation will be conducted by the Village’s consultant, the Lakota Group and there will be time for questions and answers afterward. This presentation is free and open to the public.

River Forest is an historic community committed to protecting, preserving and promoting its rich heritage. Structures in River Forest include various historical styles. Some homes were designed by architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, William Drummond, Spencer and Powers, E.E. Roberst and their contemporaries.
The Village’s Architectural and Historical Survey identifies important historic and
architectural resources within the Village.

The survey places these resources within their proper context and will
serve as an educational tool for promoting River Forest’s history and
architecture to the community at large. The survey also includes a list of nearly 300 homes designated as “Significant Properties.”
The survey, outlining the architectural history of the Village and a list of all current historically significant properties, is now available on the Village’s website: http://www.vrf.us/residents/historic-preservation.
