Say Goodbye to Your Halloween Masterpieces the Fun Way With Oak Park's 'Great Pumpkin Smash'
The event lasts an hour on Saturday evening.
Need to get rid of your post-Halloween pumpkin creations? Don't throw those beauties out just yet — the Park District of Oak Park has a much better idea for how to give them a proper sendoff.
Don't know what to do with that old pumpkin? Why not smash it down Barrie Sled Hill and enter your carved work of art in the mushiest and squishiest event of the season? All participants will start at the top of Barrie Hill and roll their pumpkins to smithereens. Free and open to the public - no need to pre-register, just show up ready to SMASH! — Park District of Oak Park
The annual "Great Pumpkin Smash" will start at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 and last approximately an hour. Show up for the festivities at Barrie Park, 1011 S. Lombard Ave., to say goodbye to pumpkin season.
