Terrifying Taxidermy House in River Forest Gets a Makeover

What kind of person wants to buy a 7,747-square-foot Tudor house packed to the ceiling beams with dead animals?

Absolutely no one.

That might be why 846 Ashland Ave. in River Forest was taken off the market in June while those guys who scrape hot roadkill off the highway were called in to deal with this mess.

The six bed, six bath home was re-listed Sept. 18 for $3.5 million, sans hunter lodge decor.

Now it’s is just like every other suburban Chicago manor with a tiny train that chugs between a pool and a waterfall on its own built-in railway system.

Just don’t be surprised if the vengeful ghosts of these corpse trophies still stampede nightly through the walls, “Jumanji” style.
