Thanksgiving 2020 Grocery Store Hours In Oak Park, River Forest

OAK PARK, IL — While Thanksgiving Day feasts are likely to be a little smaller this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, that doesn’t mean we’re less likely to forget the cranberry sauce, the gravy or the whipped topping for the pumpkin pie.

It’s a terrible feeling — but, luckily, there’s a list of grocery stores that will be open in Oak Park and River Forest for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips.

In contrast to previous years, retail giants Target and Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving.

Both chains made the decision in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement released on its website, Target said the company’s goal is to "make the holiday shopping experience simple, safe, and stress-free.”

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, along with a list of those that won’t:

Jewel-Osco: All stores open but hours vary by location. Pharmacy hours may also vary by location.

• 7036 Roosevelt Rd., Oak Park
• 7525 W. Lake St., River Forest
• 800 W North Ave., Melrose Park

Pete’s Fresh Market: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• 259 Lake St., Oak Park

Whole Foods: Hours vary by location. Many stores open at 7 a.m. and close as early as 2 p.m.

• 7245 Lake St., River Forest

Fresh Thyme Market: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• 7501 W North Ave., River Forest
