Theft at Dominick's, Car Break-ins: Police

GPS Stolen

Someone stole a GPS unit from a car inside an unlocked garage in the 500 block of North Lombard Avenue between 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 7 a.m. Dec. 4. The total estimated loss is $150, police said. 

$1,200 Stolen From Wallet

Someone stole $1,200 cash from a wallet that was inside a locker at a fitness club in the 1100 block of Lake Street between 8 and 9:30 p.m. 

iPhone, iPod Stolen From Car

Someone threw a brick through a window of a 2000 Saturn in the 1100 block of South Wesley Avenue and stole an iPhone and an iPod between 8:15 and 8:25 p.m. The total estimated loss is $800, police said. 

Retail Theft Arrest

Police charged Shevone Murphy, 40, of Chicago, with retail theft after she stole merchandise from Dominick's around 1:50 p.m. She was given a Jan. 13 court date and released on bond. 

Bike Theft

Someone stole a $100 bike from a rack in the 200 block of South Marion Street between 11:35 a.m. and 4:05 p.m. 

Car Parts Stolen From Cadillac

Someone stole the windshield wipers and blades from a 2011 Cadillac SRX parked in the 200 block of South Maple Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Dec. 3 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 4. The total estimated loss is $72, police said. 

Window Broken

Someone broke a rear window to enter a 2011 Nissan parked in the 400 block of North Taylor Street between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 3 and 5 a.m. Dec. 4. The estimated cost of damage is $500, police said.

Bike Theft

Someone stole a bike from an unlocked garage in the 800 block of South Humphrey Avenue sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 27.
