Unusual Burglary Leaves Oak Park Resident Without Locks, Lights, Faucets and Ceiling Fans

The estimated loss of all the home hardware is $3,000.

An Oct. 17 burglary left one Chicago resident without $3,000 worth of home hardware, Oak Park police reported.

Someone, who hasn’t yet been identified, broke into the garage of a home on the 500 block of N. Lombard Ave. Monday by forcing entry into the side service door. They entered between 9:30 p.m. Monday night and 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

They then stole 12 door locks, 4 faucets, 6 light fixtures, 4 ceiling fans, 4 bathroom exhaust fans and shower valves. The estimated loss of all the hardware is $3,000.
