Winter Tree Pruning To Temporarily Affect Parking In Oak Park
Officials say all the trees south of Madison Avenue will be pruned this year.

OAK PARK, IL --- Oak Park residents will be seeing temporary no parking signs popping up throughout the city as crews begin to prune the trees for winter. Contractors will prune trees from Austin to Harlem between I-290 and Roosevelt and from Austin to East Avenue between Madison and I-290.
Village officials say the tree pruning will be on a new three-year schedule that starts this year. This means that all trees that are south of Madison will be pruned in 2019.
While the tree pruning is taking place and "no parking" signs are posted, residents are asked to relocate their cars from the street.

Pruning trees in winter helps to remove dying limbs and clear canopies to prevent vehicle and street damage and to keep the roadway safe for commuters, village officials said in a post. Visit the Village of Oak Park website for more information about the village's tree pruning schedule.
