The J Fred Butler Barn was built in 1897. It was last sold in Aug. 1994 for $312,000, according to the Cook County Recorder of Deeds.

Roberts began his Oak Park practice in 1893, according to the Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest. His business became the largest architectural firm in Oak Park by 1912.
