OSWEGO, IL — With a heat wave predicted for Father's Day weekend — and a heat index that could hit 110 degrees — you'll want to keep cool and avoid overheating. These local parks offer splash pads to help you beat the heat.

And if you find yourself without power or air conditioning, Kendall County offers cooling centers to help you stay safe.

Oswego

• Prairie Point Community Park, 4120 Plainfield Road, splash pad open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Labor Day (note: PrairieFest is taking place in the park through Sunday, June 17)

Yorkville

• Riemenschneider Park, 600 Hayden Drive, water spray park is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Labor Day

Montgomery

• Stuart Sports Complex, Route 30 and Griffin Drive

Raging Waves, Illinois' largest water park, is in Yorkville and is open now. Hours vary, so check the schedule online. Free admission for ages 2 and younger; see pricing here.

Plainfield

• Village Green Park, 24121 W. Chicago St., open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June through August

Romeoville

• Boucher Prairie Park, 1649 Richfield Trail
• Volunteer Park, 1100 Murphy Drive

Shorewood (all open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Labor Day)
