Dean: Chicago Rush was founded in 2016 with the aim of providing an unparalleled soccer experience for youth soccer players in our area. We have five different locations, which allows us to serve a variety of communities and provide a top notch experience at a local level, but also enables us to form select teams where players come together from each location to compete at the highest level. This unique model allows our players to play locally with their friends and classmates, feel a part of the community they live in, but also challenges them with national level showcases and tournaments.

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you're in, and how did you get started?

Dean: Personally, I've been coaching soccer for over 10 years now. When my playing career ended as I graduated from college, I started working a 9-5 marketing job. However, I soon felt something was missing in my life and felt the need to share my passion for the game with young players. After working for various soccer clubs, companies, and at the college level, I found my home with Chicago Rush five years ago. Being able to work closely with other high level coaches has massively helped my personal development as a coach. Seeing our players experiencing the joy I felt as a young player makes all the late nights and weekends spent traveling worth the sacrifice.

Patch: How would you say your business distinguishes itself from the others?
Dean: At Rush, we pride ourselves on being able to offer a great soccer experience to players of any level. Is your 6-year-old son wanting to try travel soccer for the first time? Great, we have our Academy programs designed for beginners to learn the fundamentals and fall in love with the game. Does your 12-year-old daughter want a bigger challenge? Our Premier program aims to provide a high level of competition while learning the value of teamwork, dedication, and hard work. High School aged athlete who wants to play in college? Our Premier and Select teams will play in Local, Regional, and National competitions/showcases which attract college coaches from across the country. This Player Development Pyramid is supported by Rush coaches who understand the different needs of children, whether they are 6 or 16.
Patch: Do you have any events coming up in your community?
Dean: Tryouts for the 2021/2022 season are being held throughout the month of May.
