Christmas 2017: What's Open & What's Closed In Oswego

From government buildings to schools to movie theaters, see what's closed this Christmas.

OSWEGO, IL — Almost everyone will have Christmas Day off, but there are a few places staying open. In case you need a last-minute grocery run or other services, we have hours listed here. Here's a list of what's open and what's closed in Oswego for Christmas 2017:

  • Post office: Closed
  • Federal offices: Closed
  • Village of Oswego: City offices are closed Dec. 25 and 26. Garbage collection will be delayed a day for the remainder of the week.
  • Kendall County offices, including the circuit clerk's office, courts, health department and more will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Day. Call ahead to double check with your department.
  • Oswego school district 308: Closed (Winter break lasts through Jan. 5, 2018)
  • Oswego library: Closed Christmas Day & Christmas Eve in both locations. New Year's Eve, they're open noon 'til 4, closed New Year's Day.
  • Banks: Closed
  • Gas stations: Open
  • Retail stores: Some will be closed, some — including a few area grocery stores — will be open, but check the hours before you go.
  • Movie theaters: Goodrich Kendall 10, NCG Cinemas in Yorkville, Hollywood Palms in Naperville, AMC Showplace 16 and Regal Cantera 17 will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
