Coronavirus Cases In Kendall County Surpass 9,000

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The total number of coronavirus cases in the county has surpassed 9,000, according to public health data. The Kendall County Health Department reported 57 cases Tuesday, bringing the total to 9,067 with 4,645 in recovery.
The county reported four deaths on the last day of the year, bringing the total death toll to 72.
"Today, we are sad to report the deaths of a male in his 50s, two males in their 70s, and a male in his 80s with health complexities. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and friends during this difficult time," the health department said in an earlier release.

People aged 20 to 49 make up the majority of the cases in Kendall County. Women account for 53 percent of the COVID-19 cases, while men account for 47 percent, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The test positivity in the county is continuing to decrease and is at 13.2 percent as of Friday. The total number of weekly cases per 100,000 people is 269 and the target is 50 or fewer.
